Frequently Asked Questions
What is coaching?
Coaching is easier to understand once you've experienced it. It's like having a guide, a mentor, and a therapist all in one, except that where therapy is about recovery, coaching is about discovery.
Through a proven, intentional process, we help leaders step back, reflect with purpose, and realign with what matters most. You’ll uncover what’s working, identify what’s not, and build forward with confidence.
Connect with us and if it feels right, we can schedule a free coaching session so you can experience the process for yourself.
What results can I expect?
You’ll uncover what’s working, identify what’s not, and build forward with confidence. Coaching with Sparkhorse isn’t about fixing you—it’s about tapping into the strengths you already have to create real, lasting change. When you lead from that place of alignment and self-awareness, the impact extends far beyond your role—it ripples across your teams, your organization, and your world.
How long does a coaching program take?
Coaching isn't a one size fits all process. Typically, our clients are with us for about 6 months. How long your journey takes depends on the complexity of your goal, the work you are willing to put in, and the time you can devote to the process. After we have a connection call and have our introductory coaching session, I will be able to give you my best recommendation for how to move forward.
What are coaching sessions like?
Coaching sessions start with coach and client agreeing on the goal for that session. Usually, this goal is related to a larger vision the client is working toward, but sometimes you may want to talk about a specific challenge that has come up, or something else that is on your mind. Your coach will listen deeply, and ask questions to help you reflect and expand your thinking, gain more insight, and discover the right path forward. Along the way, the coach may offer techniques, frameworks, or other resources to help you on your journey.
Unlike a mentor session in which the mentor offers advice, coaches offer perspectives, observations, and suggestions. The client alone determines the path forward.
A coaching session should feel like a conversation with a wise old friend who pushes you to be your best self, isn't scared to point out when you've gone wrong, offers some tough love, but always supports the choices you make for yourself.
Who is coaching for?
Coaching is for anyone and everyone, but different coaches specialize in different types of clients. At Sparkhorse, we help ambitious professionals who are facing challenges and want to elevate their careers. Our clients are typically type-A high-performing movers and shakers, hungry for growth and passionate about learning. Most, but not all, are leaders in their organizations and teams, and many are executives.
How can I get started?
